You need to change the setting when POS attacks. Control Tower Manager, Defense tab. Test the new setting with your friend while he is in a noobship.

My overview locks whenever I move my mouse cursor over it and unlocks/reorders just as I am about to click and select next target resulting in wrong targeting and very high annoyance factor.
